We are excited to introduce you to Rachel Coleman, the newest member of our team here at Urban Purpose. Rachel will be the Women’s Ministry Coordinator and we cannot wait to see how the Lord is going use her to further his Kingdom with the broken and the needy in Birmingham. Take a second a get to know Rachel a little better…
I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama where I attended Grissom High School and continued my education at the University of Alabama. While in school my focus of study was Public Relations and Social Work, which include a few things I know a great deal about: talking too much and having the desire to help others. Throughout my time in Tuscaloosa, the Lord was constantly drawing me into a relationship with him by showing me his grace, love and at times, jealousy. God has really given me a heart and a desire to build relationships with people from every background for his glory!
I was asked to answer a few questions so you could get to know me a little more… so here it goes:
Would you consider yourself a morning or a night person?
I am definitely a night owl. I spent a good bit of my college years staying up throughout the night, and I’ve always been really good at convincing others to stay up with me!
If we were to take a look in your refrigerator, what would we find?
My roommates are pretty healthy eaters, but if you were to ask what was mine right now there would be a block of cheese, green tea, peaches and bread (it’s supposed to stay fresh longer in there, right?).
What would your friends say about you?
They would probably say that I am awful at answering my phone, but that I’ve gotten much better!
What is your favorite book?
Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers, I talk about it all the time- GO READ THEM!
What is your favorite activity to do inside/outside?
I LOVE to play all games, except for board games. My favorite game is called Ambassador, and it’s basically just charades on steroids!!
